Investment Research Assistant
INVESTMENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT (Part-time):
The RESEARCH ASSISTANT is an entry or mid-level research position focused on mastering the investment research and trade implementation process of The Ellerson Group. The RESEARCH ASSISTANT t is pursuing a career in investment research and gaining research skills in the role or has developed these skills and looking for a part time/more flexible environment. This individual works closely with our research team members to provide support in the analysis and decision-making process for mutual fund and ETF investments.
The RESEARCH ASSISTANT role is typically responsible for the following:
· Master The Ellerson Group best practices related to mutual fund and ETF research.
· Research new Mutual Fund and ETF offerings and develop new capabilities for tracking and analysis.
· Master current investment research tools (Zack’s and Morningstar) and learn additional research platforms as needed.
· Present new trade ideas to the investment team.
· Participate in and eventually lead meetings with fund wholesalers.
· Coordinate with Advisors on building and executing trade ideas.
· Support Wealth Strategy Team on completion of more complex cases on clients they are assigned and/or other work assigned to them on other clients.
· Build strong technical knowledge of portfolio management, rebalancing, trading, and creating and interpreting various client reports.
· Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, actively building knowledge of financial markets and The Ellerson Group investment philosophy. Begin to address client questions regarding their investment portfolio and/or performance.
A couple of special notes about our RESEARCH ASSISTANT position:
· This position is an in-person position in our Annapolis office.
· This is a part-time position, with an expected hour amount of 15-20 hours per week.
The RESEARCH ASSISTANT role typically requires the following qualifications:
Here are a few of our must haves:
· Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of finance, accounting, economics and/or related field
· New college graduates to several years of experience in a professional work environment, preferably in accounting or financial services
· Passion for the investment research process
· Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as CRM software.
· You will be process oriented, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
· You always maintain a client first attitude.
· You will exude excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
· You are a team player, you enjoy collaboration and helping others, but you can also work independently on project work.
